Governor Strickland will be stopping through Dayton Tuesday as part of his ongoing conversations regarding education reform in Ohio. Beginning in July, the Governor began his series, focusing on the six principles for education reform, which he outlined in his state of the state address. This is the first of two forums and it’s goal is to generate ideas and strategies to reform the school funding system that the state Supreme Court has ruled as unconstitutional four times.

The forum will be taking place in Dayton on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Boll Theatre in the Kennedy Union at the University of Dayton. The audience will be comprised of teachers, parents and students. The Governor hopes to hear the thoughts of Ohioans across the state before be unveils his plan in 2009.

“There is nothing more important to Ohio’s economic future than making sure that we have a world-class system of education,” Strickland said. “These forums are the beginning of a conversation with the people of Ohio about how best to reform education in our great state.”

This is part of first term Democrat’s campaign promise to reform the education system.

The forums will broadcast the twice on the local PBS Station. Schedule information available at Think TV. Also, there is live webcasting of all of the forums taking place on the Governor’s Conversation on Education website.
